Homework for Monday May 18

Hello,

Today we continued talking about “be going to“. Please work with unit 26 in the red grammar book. We also worked with reading A and did listening A. You can do that exercise at home, if you missed class today. Finally we had another go at the perfect tense. Please work with unit 20 in the red grammar book.

The tests you did last Monday were not that great so those of you who didn’t pass will have to do the test again on Monday. (I will mail you about the results). Please study  the words on pp. 150+154. It will be the same kind of test. It´s also very important to learn the words for the final test but honestly, guys, we are not doing it to pass the tests. Learning words IS the most important aspect of language learning and without words you won’t be able to listen/ read and understand either. We are learning for the future! So get a grip and start doing the work!

Homework for Monday May 18

1. Test: words pp. 150+154 for those of you who failed the first time + those of you who haven’t done the test yet.

2. Go back and review chapters 6+7. Final test, remember?

3. Finish Slumdog Millionaire. Hand in your answers!

On Tuesday and Wednesday next week: speaking test. A schedule will be mailed to you. Here it is:

Homework for Wednesday April 15/Monday April 20

Howdy,

Today we used the present continuous when we described pictures (find 10 differences). We also sang the song The Lemon Tree and did listening B in the book. Now we are all set for the test! Don´t forget to write am/is/are before the ing-form in the present continuous.

All you have to do for Wednesday is to review for the test. What do you have to learn? Look at komvux.net (this you have to learn for the test). Also review chapters 10-12, 8 and 76 in EG (the red grammar book). On Wednesday you have the reading, listening, words and grammar. On Monday next week, the writing. Take care and see you!

Homework for Wednesday April 1

Hello,

April 1st = April´s fools day! Any good pranks in mind? If not, keep your eyes open. Most newspapers publish a joke for us readers to read and enjoy.

Today we reviewed the past tense and worked with some new grammar, the present continuous. What is the difference between the present continuous and the present simple? Well, look at the red grammar book…

Homework for Wednesday April 1st

1. The present continuous

Here is a film:

EG (the red grammar book): units 3 ad 4 (key)

2. Correct “old” assignments and hand in again.

Homework for Friday February 13

Hi there,

Great activity today again! It is truly so much fun working with you and I like it when you guys do the work and I can just relax .. 🙂 Today we talked about our stressful lives again. Now what can you do about the stress? I have a few suggestions and I am sure you talked about those as well. First of all, exercise. Secondly, plan. Finally, give yourself some time off. If you have planned your (home)work, you can take time off without feeling guilty.

We also talked about countables and uncountables. Countables can be counted and they have a plural -s. Uncountables are singular and have no -s.

On Friday, we are going to talk about WRITING and what´s expected from you. So please don’t miss class! 🙂

2. In Visions: Ex 1+2 pp. 63-64 (key)

See ya´!

Homework for Monday February 9

Hi again,

Today we were not that many, only 16. Please don´t give up! The work load will be a little bit easier when we get to chapter 3. I promise!

Today we watched the introductory episode of Connect with English and discussed our preferred taste in music and our dreams. Many of you have been through lots of problems and challenges which probably are far beyond my imagination but there is hope – we can get through those tough times and realize our dreams. This is the message of Connect with English. So, what is your “dream”? Catch it!!! If you weren’t here, you can see the introduction here. Just watch the first 7-8 minutes, please!

We also practised asking and answering questions and finally we did a dictogloss to put everything we have done so far together. We will continue on Monday and correct the texts! 🙂
